Musical Comedian Evan Wecksell hits the road again with his solo show, new album and original, mostly wife-written "College The Musical" for an extensive fall tour.
GREAT NECK, NY August 25, 2010 - It's back to school time for Musical Comedian Evan Wecksell, and he has no classes, but plenty of campuses on his schedule.
Starting Thursday, August 26, Wecksell kicks off his "2010 LOL Tour," an (as of press time) nineteen-show trek across the country.
The tour is named after his new LP from Uproar Entertainment which features sixteen studio and live tracks from across his career.
Most recognized from such pop culture television shows as VH1's "I Love the 80s 3D" and E!'s "30 Most Outrageous Celebrity Feuds," last year Evan graced the stage of NBC's "America's Got Talent" and this summer worked on Fox's nineteen emmy-nominated hit "Glee."
"Hopefully I'll survive the post-production editing," says Wecksell, "but it was fantastic to be on that set and see Jane Lynch do her thing."
While Wecksell usually goes it alone on the road, the tour kicks off at Ohio's Hiram College with his appearance in "College The Musical: A Musical About College," a show co-written with wife and comedienne Kelly Meyersfield.
After a few spot dates last year, a nine-week run in North Hollywood and a sold-out summer weekend in New York City, the two-person musical is ready for greener pastures.
"The show has helped us stay married," joked Meyersfield. "We would have nothing in common without it. But seriously, the show is amazing."
After Hiram, "College" goes to Bay Path College the very next day. Tentatively, "College" is scheduled to close Evan's tour on December 1 at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota.
Wecksell's tours have expanded in recent years due to his participation in Greek events. While he welcomes Greeks back at Indiana's Hanover College on September 2, it is his participation with his Theta Chi Fraternity that are the most profilic.
One of his first Theta Chi events is a recruitment event for East Carolina University in Georgia, a school he first performed at two years ago.
"I was inspired to join after seeing the success of a fellow brother and how our chapter operated," said Chapter President Joshua Martinkovic. "I gladly welcome Evan back to inspire the Class of 2014 in the same way that I was back in 2008."
A new wrinkle in Wecksell's tour is not only his Greek-wide and Theta Chi shows, but also his sorority shows. He entertains Indiana University's Kappa Delta Sorority on September 15.
"I was looking for an exciting sisterhood event to welcome the girls back," explained Social Chair Erin Sexton, "I noticed his [Evan's] involvement in the Greek system and I thought his act would be perfect."
The very next day, Evan returns to Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, the site of his first college show back in 2005. This time around he returns with "College The Musical."
Several shows follow over the rest of the fall in such states as Arizona, Iowa, New Jersey and Georgia. Wecksell also stills true to his Jewish roots performing at Hollywood's Laugh Factory on November 17 as part of a CSUN Hillel Fundraiser.

About Evan Wecksell:
Comedian and Singer-Songwriter Evan Wecksell is one of the funniest and most energetic performers to emerge from New York’s comedy clubs and musical venues. Often compared to comedic superstars Adam Sandler and Stephen Lynch, Evan’s act is a blend of comedy and music that celebrates the college experience, endorses internet addiction, and makes fun of bad music. His album "LOL," released through Uproar Entertainment (www.uproarcomedycd.com) is currently in rotation on XM/Sirius' Raw Dog Comedy Channel, and Dr Demento's weekly radio show. Evan has also appeared on such pop-culture shows as VH1’s “I Love the 80s” and E! Television’s “30 Most Outrageous Celebrity Feuds.” His website is www.EvanWecksell.com and he is represented by DCA Productions (www.dcaproductions.com).
About College The Musical:
'College The Musical: A Musical About College' comes from the comedic and musical minds of Kelly Meyersfield and Evan Wecksell. This original two-person musical follows Amy, a naive freshman, through the hysterical highs and humbling lows of college life and relationships. Campus Activities Magazine recently selected the show as "Hot Comedy Act of 2011." The musical, whose website is www.collegethemusical.net, is represented by Cutting Edge Entertainment (www.cuttingedgeentertain.com).
About Theta Chi Fraternity:
Theta Chi is an international fraternity made up of more than 160 chapters and colonies. Although hindered by a serious depression and two world wars, Theta Chi has grown, and prospered beyond the dreams of the Founders and holds a prominent position among the national fraternity scene.
